Matthew C. McCartney earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of California at Hastings College of the law in 2003. Prior to law school Mr. McCartney attended the University of California at Davis earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Mr. McCartney’s litigation practice is currently focused on intellectual property, complex business litigation and commercial construction.  He has successfully tried cases to verdict at both the state and federal level.  As a licensed patent attorney, Mr. McCartney works with clients in a wide variety of technologies including agriculture, construction, mining, medical devices, oil and gas, and software.

Mr. McCartney is admitted to practice in in all of the courts of California and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Central, Northern and Eastern Districts of California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. McCartney is a member of the Kern County Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association.

Mr. McCartney currently resides in Bakersfield, California.
